First...a huge truck shows up at your house and you think to yourself there is no way all that sod is for you. It's only 9:30 am so you're grateful you have the entire day to get the work done.
The sod gets unloaded a as your half naked child watches from the window.
We are hard up for entertainment around here.
11 pallets in all.
It's daunting.
So you round up your work force hoping that if you tell them how buff they are they might work harder.
These boys are tough...they can do it!
Except for maybe that little one in the star pjs...he might not be up to snuff.
Hey wait? Where is the girl? Does she think she gets out of work today? I don't think so!
Now of course, your husband is fulfilling his scout calling and isn't home. So therefore, you and the kids start on your own.
You are thankful for cold, overcast weather because doing this in the heat would have been awful.
Little by little the grass gets laid out.
Around 1pm, your husband comes home and that kindles your fire to keep working.
Around 5 pm, you realize you are two pallets short. But you don't care because there is NO WAY you could have lifted anymore grass that day. Sprinklers get set and you get to stand back and admire your work.
In the meantime, your amazing mom picks up dinner for you kids and your dad helps finish the final edgings. Halleluiah!
The fact that you will have to lay two more pallets on Monday feels insane...but you are happy to be done for the day.
The porch gets swept and you sit outside to watch the sunset and eat a Chick Fil A chocolate shake.
Overall a very good day.

Oh I am just so excited for you! You will have pride in that lawn forever with all the work you guys put into it. Congratulations!!
