After the kids stopped pouting over the horror of no Santa presents under the tree, we let them go downstairs and open their presents from Steve and I.
They opened their picture books from the previous year from me and RC cars from Steve. It's no surprise which present they thought was cooler. Steve is cool…and I can't deny it.
My favorite gift was from Colby.
He hand painted coasters for me at school. I have a set from Carter two years ago and I love them!
About an hour later, the kids were dressed and ready to hunt for their presents.
Our first stop was the Bulkley house.
Carter, on the thank you letter, said he was grateful the Bulkley's didn't let their dog poop on our lawn.
I couldn't get mad at him because he was sincere about it. We are grateful the Harley doesn't poop on our lawn!
Cute pjs!
Our next stop took us to the Ward's house.
Andrew and Colby disappeared into their home for a good five minutes.
We love this family and its hard to leave their house even in the pursuit of presents.
Our clue from the Ward's took us to Grandma and Grandpa Dixon's house.
One of our kids said they were grateful for the candy drawer. Our kids have their priorities straight.
This was a fun stop as Grandma and Grandpa Dixon had presents for all of us!
My kids are spoiled rotten.
Money…always good.
The clue from Grandma and Grandpa Dixon sent us to a house that belonged to somebody who rhymed with Egg and Fanny.
(We love our Walker cousins- Holly, AJ, Meg and Annie!)
The Walker house sent us to our final destination where Santa left my kids way too many fun things.
This being the best.
Carter and Colby's names were both tagged on this baby.
(My chest is still tightening.)
Grandma and Grandpa Walker were a bit confused when they woke up to a tree surrounded by presents.
They were happy to see us and to know that the loot belonged to us.
Saylor got this beauty.
She has played with it non-stop since Christmas morning.
As in the past few years, Santa left only a scan code on each present to insure the kids having to wait and watch what everyone else gets. Steve's phone was the only device allowed Christmas morning. (Last year Andrew had every present scanned with his Ipod before we woke up.)
Even Grady was left a few gifts.
Fox pjs…ha ha!
Sling bag for swimming.
Yep…his nickname is PopTart.
Love this man!
Sweet…Lego Book!
Last Christmas with a baby.
Our family had a very Merry Christmas.
We are indeed blessed and loved.
Just when I think you are the coolest mom with your Amish card, you go and top it with this great Christmas idea! Love it! And the picture of you opening Colby's gift is priceless. His heart must have been so happy. :) Merry Christmas Dixon Family!
ReplyDeleteDo your children realize they have the best mom ever?
ReplyDeleteIf they don't, I will gladly tell them!
I love all the thought & effort you put into making memories & adventures for your family.
My New Year's resolution is to be more like you... Happy New Year!!!
