lowered expectations

This is my bed.
This is the pile of clean unfolded laundry on my bed.
This is the pile of clean unfolded laundry on my bed pushed way up to the top so I could take a nap instead of folding it.
This is the dent on my pillow made by me trying to take a nap on my bed before my children decided they needed me.
I didn't get a nap and the laundry didn't get folded.

This is our dinner.
These are my children not eating their dinner.
Notice the empty place on the left hand side of the table where my husband should be sitting for this dinner.
He missed dinner.
Colby went to bed five minutes after this picture was taken for not eating his dinner.
Most of the food left on the plates was given to the garbage can so he could have it for dinner.
I'm waisting my time even making dinner.

What we are eating around here instead of bread:

White rice

and potatoes.

Massive Idaho potatoes compliments of potato farmer next to Grandma Dixon's neighborhood.  The fields were harvested this weekend and we were allowed to glean what was left before the field was plowed again.
These doosies were the little ones.  Only in Idaho Baby, only in Idaho.

(Photography note: don't ask small children to pose holding mammoth potatoes while watching a portable dvd player.  Movies and saying cheese do not mix.)

  1. That look on Saylor's face is priceless. What a cutie! As far as the nap goes, don't give up. I dare say you deserve one going gluten free with four kids. Whew!!
